Sketches from my recent Taipei Trip

This is a sketch of the "camera district" within Taipei, where most of the camera stores are located within these 100 years old buildings. It now also include some hotels due to it's close distance to the Taipei Main train station (kind of like the Grand Central or Penn Station)
A sketch of the building next to Ambassador Movie theater within the Ximen Ding entertainment district of Taipei. Unlike the Eastern District where Taipei 101 is located, I tend to venture back to this area since it is where I went to the cinema as a child before I immigrated to the US. It still retains a lot features that made old Taipei unique like old Japanese styled Western buildings made out of red bricks and black ceilings and Buddhist temples.

There is a mini forest behind my family's home in the Taimu district, it is part of a protective land since it houses several class A trees under Taiwan's environmental protection laws, so after the original house was torn it, it was allow to grow into this mini forest. I find it very calming to wake up to it every morning.

This is actually a combination of the first drawing looking out from the second floor of the Starbucks second floor inside Ximen Ding District mixed with the old lady who set across from me at the JAL lounge while waiting to board our flight to Tokyo from JFK and waiting for my connection flight while in Tokyo next to another airport Starbucks.

This is Jonathan, he is brand new and only 2 months old. He is the newest member of my extended family and I am so happy I had the opportunity to hold him while I was there.

This is the same open air market I grew up with, it really hasn't changed much since the day I was born and still remains despite all the changes around it. Taiwan is such a place where the future and the past exist next to each other, in harmony.
